Benefits of Soy Wax

Natural soy scented candles - why should you?

Have you ever wondered what is the difference between a soy candle and a regular one made of paraffin wax? Maybe you were wondering if it is worth to buy them and if it is not just another trend for which you will overpay? Or maybe you are just hearing about them for the first time? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then this post is definitely for you.

Differences between soy wax and paraffin wax

The main and most important difference between soy wax and paraffin wax is their effect on our health. Have you ever had a headache or felt nauseous when burning a traditional candle? If so, it is most likely because of the paraffin wax. When burned, paraffin wax releases poisonous, carcinogenic compounds such as toluene, formaldehyde, and benzine, which has an effect similar to passive smoking and can make you feel worse! Additionally, in traditional candles, lead is added to the wicks, which also has no beneficial effect on our health.

Soy wax is made from soybeans - completely natural and not genetically modified, with no pesticides added. When burning soy candles, 90% less carbon dioxide is emitted than when burning traditional ones. They can be safely used with children, people suffering from allergies or asthma, and animals. Their big advantage, which nowadays should not be negligible, is also the fact that they are biodegradable and safe for the environment.

Perfect scent

If you are looking for the perfect scented candle, it is best to bet on soy candles. Soy wax is practically unscented, so it does not affect the fragrance composition created for the product. A scented soy candle fully reflects the aroma that the producer wanted to obtain. With traditional candles it is disturbed by the unpleasant smell of paraffin.

Pleasure that lasts longer

Candles made from soy wax are more efficient than paraffin candles. Properly burned, they do not tunnel, allowing us to use to the last drop of wax. Due to their lower melting point, they are safer and easier to clean if something gets messy.
